Bioenergetic restoration is a natural approach that seeks to restore the body's energy balance to promote physical, emotional, and mental health.
It is based on the principle that the human being is not only a physical body, but also an energy system that can be unbalanced by:
- Stress
- Trauma
- Blocked emotions
- Illnesses
What is it based on?
It is based on concepts of traditional oriental medicine (such as acupuncture or chi) and more contemporary currents of alternative treatments.
The idea is that when vital energy (sometimes called "chi", "prana", or simply "energy") does not flow correctly, blockages appear that affect the body and mind.
Acupuncture meridians are energy channels used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
What is their function?
These meridians form a network throughout the body and connect the internal organs with the body surface. It is considered that when the flow of Qi through the meridians is blocked or unbalanced, illnesses or physical/emotional discomfort appear.
Acupuncture seeks to unblock and harmonize this flow.
Main characteristics:
There are 12 main meridians, which correspond to the organs of the body such as the heart with small intestine, liver with gallbladder, lungs with large intestine, kidneys with bladder, stomach, and spleen-pancreas.
The tendinomuscular meridians are those found at the thymus point and work with emotions, also called wei energy (it is the defensive energy and is what makes us adapt to changes).
There are also extraordinary meridians that support and regulate the main ones.
Each meridian is associated with an organ and a specific energy function.
The energy in the meridians moves in a 24-hour cycle, which influences Chinese medicine when treating diseases (for example, certain organs are more active at certain times of the day).
What techniques are used?
Some common techniques in bioenergetic restoration include:
➙ Acupuncture protocol:
- Starting with the opening of the curious or marvelous meridians, there are four in the hands and four in the feet (if they are unbalanced they can affect the person's temperament).
- Point of regulation of Qi and sleep.
- MU points (they are the alarm points of the organs) with their corresponding water or fire point.
- Closing the protocol with the marvelous or curious meridians opposite to the opening one.
- Treat the fourth point of dumai if necessary.
